Information About Non-Credible Threat to Campus

Mustang Community,

Earlier this morning, Yorba Linda High School and Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District administrators were made aware of a non-credible threat towards our campus made on social media. In following established safety protocols, and out of an abundance of caution, our team immediately involved the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD), who has since deemed the threat non-credible and has assured us that our campus is safe and secure.

As your principal, I also want to reassure you that the safety and security of our students and staff is the number one priority at Yorba Linda High School. We take any and all concerns very seriously and also make every effort to communicate accurate and factual information in a timely manner, while respecting the integrity of the police department’s investigation.

I would like to thank OCSD for their ongoing support and partnership with YLHS. I would also like to thank our students and families for their vigilance in reporting concerns to our staff through our text-a-tip line at (657) 859-9547 or other forms of communication. This situation has provided us with an important reminder: If you see something, say something. We must all do our part in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for students.

Have a great day, Mustangs.

Sincerely,

Richard Dinh
Principal

Yorba Linda High School
