Every Day Counts is a district wide initiative to increase attendance rates. YLHS has been recognized the past two years for having outstanding attendance. Higher attendance means more funding for schools and greater learning opportunities for students! Obviously if you child is ill, please keep them home.
The OC Register recently did an article on the impact of truancy state wide. According to the article (the complete article is attached below): "Although the cost to schools of state attendance funding was significant, the long-term costs to society from reduced earnings and increased crime is far more
significant, the report states – an estimated $46 billion a year."
