Congratulations to our Fall Sports Teams as they start CIF -
Men’s & Women’s Cross County – finished 1st at the OC Championships held at Irvine Regional Park last Friday. Six of our runners finished on the all-county team - 1st team – Sarah Heckel, Ashley Lee & Alyssa Armendariz; 2nd team – Rachel Iida & Henry Silva; and 3rd team – Zack Joseph. In addition both teams are now ranked in the top10 in CIF Div. 3 and the girl’s team is ranked in the top ten in state!! Congratulations to all the coaches and athletes. Good luck in CIF!!
Women’s Golf – will play in the SS CIF Individual Tournament on Monday and the SS CIF Team Finals competition on Thursday. Good luck to our lady Mustangs!!
Women’s Tennis – won their first league title in the new Century League Conference. Congratulations to the coaches and lady Mustangs! Good luck in CIF!!
Next week, we’ll hit the Men’s sports and Women’s volleyball, which are all still in league competition.
Mustang’s – “You Canned” - the Aztecs in the canned food drive – 9,745 cans for YL to 9,145 for the Aztecs. Congratulations to YLHS students and Ms. Ferris’ class that collected the most cans in her Language Arts class.
A Big Thank You to Shea Runge – and all her “Wonderland” helpers. From the roving rally on Wednesday to Friday’s assembly and the 5:00 pep rally, to the half-time presentation and finally the homecoming dance!! It was a terrific week of homecoming activities and celebrations. Listening to students in the roving rally, “I love this day!” – “I love this week!” Thank you to EVERYONE for supporting this week’s activities and the following list of “Mustangs” who helped to make all of our activities a success – A TRUE TEAM EFFORT –

Pathways to the Future Night - This Wednesday, October 29th, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM the PYLUSD High
School counselors are hosting Pathways to the Future Night at El Dorado High School. All 8-12th graders and their families are invited. Counselors and presenters from various agencies will be providing sessions on College Admissions, Scholarships, ROP, Military Academies, NCAA, SAT/ACT, etc. Over 25 colleges and career workshops are participating.
Great Job – Mustang Band and Color Guard – for their participation in the Loara Tournament on Saturday. Your parade presentation looked and sounded great. I was very proud!!
