Principal's Weekly Update #176

Congratulations to our Theater Arts Students and Cathy Petz - for their fall production of “The Diviners”.  The cast and production crew did a terrific job with their presentation of the play, described as “a slice of life”.  Great Job Cast:  Gino Roberto, Riley Rose, Matthew Cyprien, Coleman Summers, Jennifer DeBaun, Kristin Scarborough, Faith Merz, Vito DeNicolo, Stephanie Couter, Ries Chirrick, Hagen Cloward  and Production Crew: Cathy Petz – Director, Becca Van Norman, Jasmine Sanchez, Quentin Valencia, Fernando Cardenas, Matt Scarpino, Hannah Welter, Matt Jauriqui, Blake Gould, Aaron Ford and Lighting Design – Steve G Design.

Did You Hear?  - YLHS Mock Trial is off to a terrific start - The team won their first 3 competitions against other Orange County high school teams, presenting both the defense and prosecution sides of their case in different weeks.  There are 42 teams from 33 Orange County high schools.  Congratulations to the following team members: Roshiny Patel, Jace Jenican, Andy Nguyen, Starleen Runge, Jarod Graham, Kelsey Cooper, Connie Huang, Dashan Patel, Alexa Elkabbara, Connor Borden, Mikil Patel, Lillian Nasar, Allison Tearjen, Dani Robertson, Liz Tipping, Sarah Chen, Miya Sheker.  AND – thanks to our attorney coaches: Kunal Jain and Paul Deese and teacher/coach/advisors: Lisa Tully and Noelle Toxqui.  The next competition is on December 2^nd at the Santa Ana Courthouse.  Go Mustangs!!

YLHS  Student House of Representatives  - met on Tuesday, November 18^th in the ASB room.  Topics of discussion included the school play, Dance Company show, “Week of Wishes”, Choir show, AP/Honors Night and Battle of the Sexes Rally.
