Abe Ochoa will be representing the Yorba Linda Mustangs as he competes in the 26th Annual NHSCA High School National Wrestling Championships March 27th to March 29th in Virginia Beach VA at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
This event is the most prestigious high school event, in any sport, throughout the country. Last year, the National High School Championships Senior Division had 618 Entries, 254 State Champions featuring 10 4x State Champions, 19 3x State Champions, 72 2x State Champions, 133 1x State Champions, and 494 State Place Winners.
Modeled after the NCAA Division I Championship, the NHSCA High School Nationals Wrestling Championship affords the very best competition in the country. This is a showdown where the best meet the best. The top 8 place finishers in each weight class will officially be declared High School Senior All-Americans and will also be recognized at the National High School Sports Hall of Fame Museum.
As you can imagine, this is an opportunity of a life time for Abe and his coaches.
To help cover the costs to participate in this tremendous event (airfare, hotel, food etc.), the YLHS Wrestling Boosters have coordinated a few fund raising opportunities and are asking the Mustang Wrestling supporters to help in any way you can.
This Thursday, March 19 from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Lamppost Pizza East Yorba Linda, 21480 Yorba Linda Blvd (at New River Road) Albertsons Center will donate 25% of all regularly priced orders when you mention YLHS.
