A Big Thank You to Greg Kemp and Staff - for your planning and support of OCDE “I’ve Got Your Back” anti-bullying program. The two day program with a teacher/student workshop and all school assembly presented the tools every student needs to know to prevent bullying and its harmful effects. YLHS has “Ambassadors of Change” and all students recognizing the difference they can make in promoting a safer atmosphere. Thank you Mr. Kemp for bringing this program to YLHS.
Did Your Hear? – AP Honors Night on December 2nd had over 130 parents and students listen to presentations by Assistant Principal, Jamie Jauch; Counselor Nancy Coulter; teachers – Greg Walls, Stacy Shube, Rey Lejano, Nereida Nunez, Wes Peacock and Dan Eliot. Each staff member presented the expectations and results of our outstanding AP and Honors programs at YLHS. There were many positive comments regarding how much the parents appreciated the time each staff member took to explain their specific subject area and how well our Mustangs perform on Advanced Placement exams. We even had two very special guests, Adam Carrillo and Jennifer Nagel, to present the students perspective on how involved they are in many areas outside the Advanced Placement program. Great job everyone and a Big Thank You to Mrs. Jauch for planning and coordinating the evening presentation.
Mustang University 15-16 - had its annual “Financial Aid Night” on December 9th at 6:30 in our library. Approximately 1100 parents turned out to listen to Kathleen Clark, The Director of Graduate Financial Aid @ Chapman University. A Big Thank You to our counselors and Assistant Principals for planning this very successful presentation for our community.
Holiday Music - This Wednesday evening. December 16th, the YLHS Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra and Choir will be presenting their Holiday Concerts.

Comedy Sportz - Come out and see Comedy Sportz tomorrow night, December 15th in the forum at 7:00 p.m. This night is staff vs. students. Staff participating are Stacy Shube, Kevin Shanahn, Desi St. Amant, Shea Runge, Jim Hay and Assistant Principal, Jamie Jauch! This is a fun night of comedy and laughter!
