Congratulations to YLHS freshman, Karissa Dole, who have been crowned Miss Fullerton’s Outstanding Teen 2016-2017. Her older sister, Kiannah Dole, served as Miss Yorba Linda’s Outstanding Teen 2014-2015.
Congratulations to Darshan Patel, Mock Trial Outstanding Attorney 2015-2016. On February 5th, at the Orange County Constitutional Rights Foundation Mock Trial luncheon, Darshan was recognized for her efforts and talents as Mock Trial Attorney during this year’s competition. Great Job, Darshan and advisors Lisa Tully & Noelle Toxqui.
Congratulations – YLHS’ 1st Year FBLA Team – The FBLA SS Leadership Conference was held at Biola University on Saturday, February 6th. YLHS’ small but mighty FBLA Chapter attended this day of business competitive event test taking and performance tasks. Up against chapters with over 130 members present, YLHS
members placed in 3 of 6 events.
Harshal Vaza & Johnny State worked collaboratively on their team event – Marketing – 5th place Nick Ding, Zachary Co & Simran Chowdhry started their day testing in their team event in Entrepreneurship. In the afternoon, they participating in the Shark Tank event where they had to come up with a solution to cut down on e-waste created by cell phones. Ideas were submitted by over 40 teams and narrowed down to the top 15.

They made the cut!! From there, they made the next cut and finally finished in 1st place and earned a cash prize.
They also placed 10th in their team Entrepreneurship test.

Did You Hear? – Men’s and Women’s athletics are moving forward in CIF playoffs. Congratulations to: Coach Teiko Ikemoto and the women’s basketball team on being the co-league champs of the North Hills league and to Greg Avilas and the women’s soccer team for their 2nd place finish in the North Hills league. Both programs are advancing to the CIF playoffs. Congratulations to Coach Jason Pietsch and men’s basketball for their 2nd consecutive North Hills league championship. They finished undefeated! Congratulations to Coach Kino Oaxaca and men’s soccer for their 2nd place finish in the North Hills league. Finally, congratulations to Coach Brian Fortenbaugh and the wrestling team for winning their 4th consecutive league championship. They also defeated all 7 other teams in the league finals and qualified 11 wrestlers and 2 alternates for CIF individual this weekend. Steve Hill & Dillon Herrera were also named league individual champions.
